Firstly, a bit of backstory. As a household that needs some form of network-attached storage available at all times (my wife and I both work in IT and have some data-heavy hobbies), We used to rock a Synology box until the motherboard decided to default on us and thus we lost everything. This got me thinking and rethinking regarding NAS solutions for the better half of last year; I went from Fâ Synology â I will go with QNAP to â holy moly, the NAS hardware is expensive as hell.
